1. Introduction
VǪLVE is a personal knowledge synthesis platform operated by eShopDanmark. We provide advanced information extraction, analysis, and digestion services for personal use. We do not provide news services; we provide a technical interface for processing information of interest to the user.
Contact Information:
eShopDanmark
Haraldsgade 14, DK-7400 Herning, Denmark
Email: legal@eshopdanmark.dk | support@volve.dk
2. Information We Collect
To provide the synthesis service, we collect:
- Account Data: Email and name via Clerk.
- User-Provided Content: Information you forward to VǪLVE (e.g., via email) or sources you provide for extraction. This is processed solely for your personal digital library.
- Interaction Data: How you interact with synthesized summaries (taps, expansions, triage actions).
- Technical Identifiers: Device IDs and tokens required for Push Notifications.
3. The Extraction & Synthesis Engine
VǪLVE utilizes a proprietary pipeline to digest vast amounts of information:
- Automation: We use Playwright and Firecrawl to retrieve and format data from user-specified sources.
- AI Processing: We use Google Gemini AI to extract key insights and synthesize content into readable formats.
- Newsletter Digestion: Emails forwarded by users are analyzed by our AI to provide concise summaries. These original forwarded emails are deleted immediately after processing. User data is not used to train public models.
4. Sub-processors
We utilize the following vetted partners to maintain the service:
| Provider | Service | Data Location |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Identity & Authentication | EU/USA (SCCs) |
| Hetzner Online | Core Infrastructure & Hosting | Finland (EEA) |
| Google Cloud/Firebase | Push Notifications & Cloud Logic | EU/EEA |
| Google Gemini API | Generative AI Synthesis | EU/Global |
| Firecrawl | Structural Extraction | EU/Global |
5. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the VǪLVE service:
- Forwarded Emails: Deleted immediately after processing and extraction.
- Feed Content: Extracted and synthesized content is deleted automatically as it expires from feeds. By default, this occurs when 20 newer content sources have been extracted, or when the content is manually deleted by the user.
- Personal Archive: The retention policy for items saved specifically to your personal archive is managed entirely by you.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
VǪLVE uses local storage and secure tokens (managed by Clerk and Capacitor) strictly for account authentication and maintaining your secure session. We do not use any external analytics services or tracking cookies across our platform.
7. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR)
As an EU citizen dealing with a Danish company, you are fully protected by GDPR. You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify (correct) any inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and data (“Right to be Forgotten”).
- Restrict processing and request Data Portability.
To exercise any of these rights, please use our dedicated Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) form — the fastest and most secure way to submit a formal GDPR request. Alternatively, you may contact our legal team directly at legal@eshopdanmark.dk.
We will respond within 30 days as required by GDPR Article 12 and the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet). If your request is particularly complex, we may extend this by up to two additional months — but we will always notify you within the initial 30-day window. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with Datatilsynet.
8. Google Play Data Safety & AI Disclosure
- Purpose: Data is used for App Functionality and Session Management.
- AI Safety: VǪLVE generates content through Large Language Models. Users can report any problematic extraction via the in-app reporting tool.
- Erasure: You can delete your account and all processed information within the app settings at any time.
9. Regulatory Compliance
This policy is designed to comply with the EU GDPR and Danish Law. Any data processed outside the EEA is protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
